Emergency Food & Market Support Fund Update

Updated: November 17, 2025

Great news: All November CalFresh (SNAP) benefits for LA County have now been issued.

Your support has been invaluable throughout this period of uncertainty. Contributions to our Emergency Food & Market Support Fund enabled us to step in quickly for families and vendors who were left in limbo during the delay, helping to ensure continued access to fresh, local food and stability for the farmers and small businesses that anchor our markets.

Even with benefits restored, many CalFresh households are expected to see smaller monthly allotments moving forward. These reductions will place added strain on seniors, families with children, and working households who already rely on SNAP to make ends meet. As we head into the holiday season, this shift will also create additional pressure on community partners and local markets, who will work hard to fill the gaps.

What’s Next

  • Our Market Match program is ongoing at all participating markets, doubling the purchasing power of CalFresh shoppers on fresh fruits and vegetables.

  • Being a member of Food Access LA is still more important than ever. Membership enables us to respond promptly to disruptions and provide support to families and farmers during times of uncertainty.
