Intellectual Wellness: Recognizing your creative abilities and finding ways to expand your knowledge and skills.

The Intellectual Wellness Dimension involves many things that keep our brains active and our intellect expanding. In a broad sense, this involves looking at different perspectives of an issue and taking them into consideration. Through a number of activities, such as learning about current events and organizing group activities at home or in the community – you can broaden perspectives and understand different points of view.

Intellectual Wellness Practices include:

  • Exploring & engaging in your personal interests. Finding time for hobbies and community service activities.

  • Seeking education as a life-long learner. Taking time to learn new things through classes, webinars or on-line research.

  • Engaging in activities that keep your brain active. Challenging your mind with mental exercises, work or volunteer projects.

  • Having conversations with people and gaining an understanding of important issues.
