Intellectual Wellness: Recognizing your creative abilities and finding ways to expand your knowledge and skills.
The Intellectual Wellness Dimension involves many things that keep our brains active and our intellect expanding. In a broad sense, this involves looking at different perspectives of an issue and taking them into consideration. Through a number of activities, such as learning about current events and organizing group activities at home or in the community – you can broaden perspectives and understand different points of view.
Intellectual Wellness Practices include:
Exploring & engaging in your personal interests. Finding time for hobbies and community service activities.
Seeking education as a life-long learner. Taking time to learn new things through classes, webinars or on-line research.
Engaging in activities that keep your brain active. Challenging your mind with mental exercises, work or volunteer projects.
Having conversations with people and gaining an understanding of important issues.
