Emotional Wellness: Coping effectively with life and creating satisfying relationships.
The Emotional Wellness Dimension involves expressing your feelings, adjusting to emotional challenges, coping with life’s stressors, and enjoying life. It includes knowing our strengths as well as what we want to get better at, and living and working on our own but letting others help us from time to time.
Emotional Wellness Practices include:
Being open and aware of your feelings and emotions without judgement.
Finding safe relationships with people or groups where you can express your feelings and thoughts.
Engaging in regular self-care activities to take care of your body and mind. Examples include relaxing, formal and informal mindful practices and taking in the good of life.
Handling stress with healthy coping strategies. Examples include knowing your stressors, and engaging in practices such as grounding, breathing and taking a relaxation break.
